Group Kick…

As I said yesterday I was trying Group Kick for the first time since it has changed from Body Combat last night & guess what…

As much as I was dreading it and my mate practically dragged me there. I walked out of the class straight to reception and booked in for next week. I loved the music, the moves, the amount of sweat that was pouring off me.. & this morning I feel great. Although my wrists are sore from holding my weight which they aren’t used to but its all part of the process I suppose.

I went in thinking I don’t think I am going to last 5 mins, and was actually gutted when it came to the cool down. In the first ten mins I was like this is a bit violent as the instructor shouted stuff like ‘grab their head now punch’ but after a short while I embraced it and thought of people I didn’t like and pretty much punched them in my mind, was quite therapeutic haha! So yeah if like me you are worried about trying it all I can say is DO IT! I’m looking forward to next week!

    • it really does help to do something different, and to mix in lots of different types of exercise to get everything working…at least that is my philosophy…other people are more focused…

I just looked up Group Kick and it is a different franchise to the Les Mills Body Combat, this might be why you liked it better πŸ˜€ maybe just a slightly different approach πŸ˜‰

      • yeah I wasn’t keen on the les mills one, too much running about for my liking in the class I did. hoping that the mixing it up and trying different things approach is going to help as i’m so stuck! haha

it was also funny watching the very serious people in there haha

      • I have found doing something every day and mixing it up a lot has really helped…(and mostly giving up sugar…)

I totally agree, the serious people, with their hand wraps even though it is non-contact make me laugh too πŸ™‚

      • your doing fab, cant believe you have done 260 odd days that’s amazing!

haha yeah the instructor had them on, I did hurt my wrist though so maybe I will have to invest in some hahaha

      • πŸ˜€ thanks, I can hardly believe it either!

You shouldn’t need wraps unless you are actually hitting things…

were you hitting things? how did you hurt your wrists?

      • I hrt my wrists by doing the burpee things, and you crawl out and in of the plank position etc so I don’t think my wrists are used to holding my weight kind of thing if that makes sense?

      • yes! I know exactly what you mean! Mine still hurt sometimes when I do a lot of plank/handstands etc πŸ˜€ but I promise they will get stronger πŸ˜€
Burpees will always hurt mind you…they are horrible but awesome!
