One more step..

So today I have made an appointment with the doctor/nurse about my weight gain as a last resort, has anyone had help from their doctor and it actually working etc? What happened? How did they help? I’m curious to know what is going to happen..

  1. Good luck on your weight loss journey! From my experience, it’s always best to seek professionals so going to the doctor should help! As long as you follow their advice without cheating! 🙂

    • Thank you, I have a mix of emotions, scared, nervous, excited. I’m praying they can help me, I have to wait 10 days but hopefully will all be worth it, thank you for the comment any bit of advice is great, appreciate it thank you!

  2. That is excellent! I am very excited for you. My personal weight loss started because the doctor told me to lose weight and connected me to a nutritionist. Remember, it’s a marathon not a sprint, you can do it!

    • Thank you for your kind words I’m excited also, this is kind of a last resort for me, if this doesn’t work I don’t know what will! Glad to see you used expert advice and took it on board to lose your weight very happy for you! Quick question what should I expect from them? Will they take bloods or anything I’m terrified of needles? Eek! What kind of advice does the nutritionist give?

      • Glad to help! They will probably take a quick blood draw (don’t worry, it won’t be painful, look the other direction, that helps me!) and probably test to see what your cholesterol and lipid levels are. That will be helpful information for you moving forward.
My nutritionist help me set goals and gave me tips on what kinds of foods to eat. It helps to focus on what you can eat, not what is now forbidden. For me that was learning about all of the truly delicious and healthy vegetables out there, and learning how to ween off bread. Just eliminating bread and soda from my diet made a huge difference, and I’ve gradually learned how to continue to eat more and more healthy each day. Remember, it’s progress, not perfection, and you can do it!

      • Thank you so much, not looking forward to the blood tests but looking forward to learning and educating myself on healthy lifestyle and putting it to the test. You sound like you are doing fab, keep up the great work and hopefully I will be on the journey to healthy with you soon!

  3. Hi! You shouldn’t see this as a bad thing but as an opportunity to improve your knowledge and awareness of how to live a healthy life style. As mentioned before by triahawarma, it is always a good thing to seek professional help. Usually when you go to the doctors in the UK where I’m based, they prescribe to you a well qualified personal trainer/dietitian. I do believe you are in safe hands. Keep pushing!

    • Thank you I am also I’m the uk so I’m hoping they will out me in touch with someone along those lines my appointment isn’t for another week though but I will keep blogging I’m finding it helpful
